Marder III

The Marder III was a lightly-armored German tank destroyer of WWII built on the obsolete chassis of
the Panzer 38(t). The Marder III was armed initially with a 7.62 cm PaK 36(r) antitank gun
and finally with a 7.5 cm Pak 40. The gun was mounted with limited traverse in an armored
superstructure which was open to the top and rear. The Marder III was designated Sd. Kfz. 138 or Sd. Kfz. 139.
